Sheila Eyberg, PhD, ABPP, is a Distinguished Professor Emerita in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida. Over the course of her career, she has held a variety of academic, clinical, and leadership positions that have significantly influenced the field of child psychology. Dr. Eyberg began her tenure at Oregon Health Sciences University, where she served from 1974 to 1985 before joining the University of Florida. At Florida, she contributed extensively through research, teaching, and clinical service focused on child psychology.

In addition to her academic work, Dr. Eyberg has held numerous leadership roles in professional psychological organizations. In 1987, she served as President of the Section on Clinical Child Psychology, which at that time was Section I of the American Psychological Association's Division 12 (Clinical Psychology). The organization later became APA Division 53 and was renamed the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. Her other leadership positions include serving as President of the Society of Pediatric Psychology in 1984, President of the Southeastern Psychological Association in 2000, and President of the Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice (APA Division 37) in 2001.

Dr. Eyberg has also played a key role in advancing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Since 2009, she has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of PCIT International, an organization dedicated to promoting the dissemination and implementation of PCIT worldwide. In recognition of her distinguished contributions to psychology, she was granted the title of Distinguished Professor Emerita at the University of Florida in 2011.
