Dr. Adam T. Schmidt obtained his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin and his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Minnesota. He completed postdoctoral fellowships in pediatric neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology at Johns Hopkins University and Baylor College of Medicine. Prior to coming to Texas Tech University, he was faculty in the clinical psychology program at Sam Houston State University. At Texas Tech, he directs the Pathways to Resilient Youth Development (PRYDE) Lab, which examines how adversity and related neurocognitive and psychosocial factors influence development, resilience, and mental health outcomes in youth. His research focuses on understanding the role of child adversity in shaping brain development and impacting mental health within children and adolescents.
