Jin Zhang (she/her/hers) is an Asian cisgender woman, a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), and a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) therapist. She is deeply committed to providing holistic and culturally responsive therapy to children and adults, specializing in supporting underrepresented populations, including individuals and families from Asian and Black communities, immigrants, and international students.
Jin graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2021 with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. From 2022 to 2024, Jin worked at PlayfulLeigh Psyched under the supervision of Dr. Dowtin. Through this experience, she gained solid training in PCIT and became a certified therapist in 2024. Currently, she is pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D) at George Washington University. As a doctoral student, Jin is dedicated to exploring the challenges faced by non-native English-speaking minoritized therapists under systemic dynamics from a psychodynamic perspective, with a focus on fostering self-empowerment through both research and practice. In addition, Jin continues to deepen her expertise in the Child and Adolescent Track and aims to use her doctoral training to advocate for social justice in the field of PCIT and promote accessible mental health services for children and families from the global majority and marginalized populations.
