Dr. Paiml graduated from the University of Alabama with a PhD in Child Clinical Psychology with Specialization in Child and Adolescent Forensic Psychology. She is a clinical psychologist and an assistant professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). She is the clinical director for the UTHSC Center of Excellence for Children in State Custody (COE), program director of the UTHSC COE Postdoctoral Fellowship in Child Welfare and Trauma-Informed Care, and the director of the UTHSC Parent-Child Interaction Therapy Clinic. Dr. Paiml is a PCIT International Association Within Agency Trainer and a Regional Trainer Candidate. Through the COE, Dr. Paiml serves as a trainer on the COEs’ Best Practices PCIT Dissemination team. At the UTHSC COE, she also conducts psychological assessments of children in state custody or at-risk of entering state custody. Dr. Paiml’s clinical focus includes complex trauma, disruptive behaviors, child welfare, and problematic sexual behavior.
