Marguerite Ryan is a registered psychologist whose work spans perinatal psychology, parent–child intervention, and organisational psychology, with a particular focus on the intersection between family wellbeing and workplace systems. Marguerite began her academic career with an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the University of Sydney, where she developed a strong interest in cross-cultural cognition and the ways social systems shape human behaviour. She later completed a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology at Monash University, followed by a Master of Business Administration at the University of Melbourne. She is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of New South Wales, where her research examines the effectiveness of school-based Parent–Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) in regional communities, with a focus on improving access to evidence-based parenting interventions outside metropolitan areas. Clinically, Marguerite works extensively in perinatal psychology, supporting parents experiencing birth trauma, perinatal bereavement, depression, and anxiety. Her work in this space is grounded in attachment theory and early relational health, recognizing that parental wellbeing and parent–infant attunement are foundational to child development. This early-intervention lens naturally extends into her work with PCIT, where strengthening the parent–child relationship, enhancing parental confidence, and improving child emotional and behavioural regulation are central therapeutic goals.
