Elysha Clark-Whitney is a Clinical Psychology registrar, and a post-doctoral researcher. She completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney, alongside a PhD examining parents' adjustment to their child's autism diagnosis during parent-mediated intervention through the University of Sydney Child Behaviour Research Clinic. Prior to this, Elysha completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Psychology at New York University, and went on to work at the Center for Autism in the Developing Brain, New York, before returning home to Australia to complete her post-graduate studies. Elysha has experience in clinical assessment and intervention with parents and children, with a particular focus on neurodivergent families. She is a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) therapist, and has delivered PCIT across clinic, school and online contexts, including both standard PCIT and PCIT for callous-unemotional traits (PCIT-CU). Elysha has strong skills in research-practice translation, and her research and clinical work continue to inform each other. She continues to build upon her PhD research into supporting autistic children and their parents, and is employed as a post-doctoral research fellow through the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre at La Trobe university.
