Amanda N’zi, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of Colorado and the Founder and CEO of Growing Together Child and Family Therapy, an all-virtual group practice specializing in evidence-based, family-centered care for children and caregivers. She earned her PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Florida (APA-accredited) and completed advanced internship and fellowship training in child abuse and neglect at the University of Oklahoma and University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Dr. N’zi is a PCIT International–Certified Regional Trainer, a role she has held since 2013. She has more than a decade of experience delivering, supervising, and disseminating Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) across clinical, academic, and public systems. She is the only PCIT International certified trainer serving the Colorado and Wyoming region and has trained over 100 mental health professionals and within-agency trainers through statewide and national initiatives. Her work includes leading long-term PCIT consultation groups, supporting fidelity-driven implementation, and advising agencies on sustainable PCIT infrastructure.
In addition to her training role, Dr. N’zi has held faculty appointments at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the University of Denver and has worked in pediatric hospital, rehabilitation, and child welfare settings. She has served on national PCIT International task forces, including as Chair of the Training Task Force, and is currently involved in statewide policy and workforce development efforts related to early childhood mental health and Family First Prevention Services.
Dr. N’zi identifies as a twice-exceptional (2E), cisgender, white woman, and brings a reflective, equity-informed lens to her clinical, training, and systems-level work. Her professional focus centers on young children with externalizing behavior, trauma exposure, neurodevelopmental differences, and complex family systems, with an emphasis on bridging research, practice, and implementation to improve access to high-quality care for families.
