Dr. Romanowicz is Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology and serves as Co‑Chair of Research in the Department of Psychiatry & Psychology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she leads collaborative, translational child psychiatry initiatives. Her research focuses on integrating parent‑child therapies—particularly Parent‑Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)—with digital health and artificial intelligence to enhance early childhood outcomes. This includes wearable‑enabled, real‑time monitoring and sleep/behavior phenotyping. She has published studies on smartwatch‑based physiological biomarkers for predicting disruptive behavior, machine‑learning approaches for early prediction of antidepressant treatment outcomes in youth, and the relationship between early childhood sleep difficulties and later psychiatric illness. Dr. Romanowicz also directs the Young Child Clinic and actively fosters research capacity through departmental training programs.
